What does my car warranty cover?

With WSG, your vehicle is covered for a wide range of parts and the labour times involved to repair or replace them.

Platinum covers around 6,000 mechanical, electrical and electronic components, including many that are normally excluded by other warranty companies.

What does it NOT cover?

Some parts and faults aren’t covered, such as bodywork, trim, general maintenance and service items.

The Platinum plan is so comprehensive it’s almost impossible to list every covered item—so you’ll find the exclusions instead. Anything not listed under exclusions is covered.

What happens if my car exceeds the age and mileage parameters?

The age and mileage parameters apply at the warranty start date. If you exceed them during your term, your cover simply continues for the remainder.

Platinum includes wear & tear cover until your vehicle reaches 100,000 miles. After this, the wear & tear element ceases but the rest of your cover remains the same.

How many claims can I make?

Unlimited claims, each up to your chosen claim limit, up to the current market value of your car at the time of claim. All claims include the cost of parts, labour and VAT.

How do I make a claim?

Before any work is carried out, contact the claims team on 0800 060 8610 or email. They’ll provide an authorisation code to the garage.

What is a used car warranty?

A written guarantee covering specified mechanical, electrical and electronic parts against sudden failure, designed to pay for some or all repair/replacement costs within a set time frame.

Modern vehicles are complex—unexpected failures can be expensive. A used car warranty could save you thousands.

Why is my warranty different to the above?

Some dealers offer customised products, so your cover may differ from the standard range. To discuss, please contact us or speak to your sales advisor.

How do I take out a WSG warranty?

Purchase a used car from one of our approved dealerships to receive or be offered a WSG warranty. In most cases, you can upgrade or extend around the start date, or renew around the expiry date.

Do I need to use one of your garages?

In most cases you can choose our repairer network or your own garage. We work directly with hundreds of garages across the UK and can settle claims with them directly.

If you use your own garage, we have a set labour rate—any excess is your responsibility. Some garages may ask you to settle first; we’ll reimburse once we receive the invoice and required documents.

Depending on the claim, a specialist may be required (e.g., turbos, gearboxes, engines, driveline, ECUs, power steering)—we work directly with specialist repairers too.
